چکیده
The cape gooseberry is the second most exported fruit in Colombia. There are, however, little information available on genetic improvement processes and limited research components. objective of this study was to characterize fruits 36 hybrids, obtained from double haploid lines Tibaitatá Research Center Colombian Corporation for Agricultural Research. Hybrids with potential uses transformation or fresh consumption were identified using Hierarchical Cluster (HC) Principal Component Analysis (PCA) 20 physical, physicochemical, compositional, physiological descriptors, four trials Andean region southern According PCA, three components represented 73.6% total variability: postharvest (37.5%), sensory nutritional quality (21.3%) cracking percentage (14.8%). Six conglomerates identified. Groups two, four, six had aptitude because size berry, high vitamin C content, maturity index low levels. Group one showed processing consumption. five registered a seed rates, percentage.

Renoprotective Effect of Egyptian Cape Gooseberry Fruit (Physalis peruviana L.) against Acute Renal Injury in Rats
This study aimed to evaluate the renoprotective effect of Physalis peruviana L. extract (PPE) on acute renal injury in rats. Adult male rats (n = 36) were divided into six groups that were fed with basal diet throughout the experiment (33 days). The first group was normal group, the second and the third groups were administered orally with 100 and 150 mg PPE/kg body weight (BW) respectively, th...
متن کاملDevelopment and Characterization of Microsatellite Markers for the Cape Gooseberry Physalis peruviana
Physalis peruviana, commonly known as Cape gooseberry, is an Andean Solanaceae fruit with high nutritional value and interesting medicinal properties. In the present study we report the development and characterization of microsatellite loci from a P. peruviana commercial Colombian genotype. We identified 932 imperfect and 201 perfect Simple Sequence Repeats (SSR) loci in untranslated regions (...
متن کاملAssociation Study Reveals Novel Genes Related to Yield and Quality of Fruit in Cape Gooseberry (Physalis peruviana L.)
Association mapping has been proposed as an efficient approach to assist plant breeding programs to investigate the genetic basis of agronomic traits. In this study, we evaluated 18 traits related to yield, (FWP, NF, FWI, and FWII), fruit size-shape (FP, FA, MW, WMH, MH, HMW, DI, FSI, FSII, OVO, OBO), and fruit quality (FIR, CF, and SST), in a diverse collection of 100 accessions of Physalis pe...
